Albuquerque Man Pleads Guilty to Federal Methamphetamine Trafficking Charges

Defendant Prosecuted as Part of “Worst of the Worst” Anti-Violence Initiative

ALBUQUERQUE – Lawrence Anthony Martinez, 39, of Albuquerque, N.M., pleaded guilty today in federal court to methamphetamine trafficking charges.  Under the terms of his plea agreement, Martinez will be sentenced to 72 months in prison followed by a term of supervised release to be determined by the court.

Orlando Man Sentenced to Five Years in Federal Prison for Firearm Offenses

Orlando, Florida – Chief U.S. District Judge Anne C. Conway has sentenced Anthony Kenty Soto-Lopes (34, Orlando) to five years in federal prison for possessing an unregistered machinegun, silencer, and short barreled rifle, and for being a felon in possession of a firearm. The Court also ordered him to forfeit five Glock pistols that law enforcement recovered from his residence during the investigation. Soto-Lopes pleaded guilty on December 19, 2014.

Jury Convicts Major Tobacco Distributor in $16 Million Excise Tax Fraud Scheme

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — After a seven–day trial, a federal jury found Moo Hoon “Steve” Kim, 54, resident of Cypress, Calif., guilty today of mail fraud, United States Attorney Benjamin B. Wagner announced.  The trial was held before United States District Judge William B. Shubb.
