A LARGE CUTOFF LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM CONTINUES TO SPIN OFF THE COAST
OF NORTHERN AND CENTRAL CALIFORNIA THIS AFTERNOON. RAINFALL
WITH AN ASSOCIATED COLD FRONT WILL INCREASE IN COVERAGE AND INTENSITY
ACROSS SAN LUIS OBISPO AND SANTA BARBARA COUNTIES THIS AFTERNOON AND
EVENING. WHILE SCATTERED SHOWERS ARE EXPECTED ACROSS VENTURA AND LOS
ANGELES COUNTIES THROUGH THIS EVENING...STEADIER AND MORE WIDESPREAD
RAIN IS EXPECTED FOR THESE AREAS OVERNIGHT INTO EARLY SATURDAY
MORNING. A STRONG UPPER LEVEL JET STREAM COMBINING WITH INCREASED
INSTABILITY WILL BRING A SLIGHT CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS TO COASTAL
PORTIONS OF SANTA BARBARA AND SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTIES...AS WELL AS
THE ENTIRE COASTAL WATERS OF SOUTHWEST CALIFORNIA. ANY THUNDERSTORMS
THAT DEVELOP WILL HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO BRING BRIEF HEAVY
DOWNPOURS...GUSTY WINDS...AND SMALL HAIL.

RAINFALL AMOUNTS ARE GENERALLY EXPECTED TO RANGE BETWEEN ONE QUARTER
AND ONE INCH. THE HIGHEST AMOUNTS ARE EXPECTED TO BE FOCUSED ACROSS
THE COASTAL AREAS OF SAN LUIS OBISPO AND SANTA BARBARA
COUNTIES...WITH LOCAL RAINFALL TOTALS OVER ONE INCH LIKELY FOR AREAS
NEAR THUNDERSTORMS.

SNOW LEVELS WILL BE ABOVE 7000 FEET FOR THE DURATION OF THIS
EVENT...WITH ONLY LIGHT ACCUMULATIONS EXPECTED AT HIGHER ELEVATIONS.
WIND GUSTS 35 TO 45 MPH CAN BE EXPECTED ACROSS THE MOUNTAIN
AREAS...WITH GUSTS BETWEEN 25 AND 35 MPH ACROSS COASTAL AND VALLEY
AREAS.

HIGH SURF ADVISORIES HAVE BEEN POSTED ACROSS THE CENTRAL COAST...
WHERE BREAKERS OVER 10 FEET CAN BE EXPECTED. LOCAL SETS TO 7 FEET
WILL BE POSSIBLE ACROSS WEST FACING BEACHES OF LOS ANGELES AND
VENTURA COUNTIES.
