Comparative effectiveness research aims to be relevant to stakeholders. In order to better understand the needs of stakeholders for research on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), the Chicago-Area DEcIDE Center, conducted stakeholder meetings including researcher, clinician, professional society, patient advocate, health plan, and government representatives. Yesterday, Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics published a paper describing the Centerâs research identification process and results. The full study can be viewed in Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics at: http://www.nature.com/clpt/journal/vaop/ncurrent/full/clpt2011237a.html. Citation: Pickard AS, Lee TA, Solem CT, et al. Prioritizing comparative-effectiveness research topics via stakeholder involvement: an application in COPD. Clin Pharmacol Ther 2011 Nov 2 [Epub ahead of print]. PMID: 22048220.
