...A STRONG WINTER STORM WILL IMPACT THE REGION THIS WEEKEND WITH
BLIZZARD CONDITIONS IN THE NORTHERN COLORADO MOUNTAINS...

.SNOWFALL WILL START OVER SOUTHWEST FACING SLOPES THIS MORNING.
WINDS WILL INCREASE THROUGH TODAY BECOMING VERY STRONG THIS
AFTERNOON AND EVENING AS A COLD FRONT PASSES OVER NORTHWEST
COLORADO. SNOWFALL WILL BECOME HEAVY AT TIMES WITH THE FRONT AND
THE NORTHWEST PLATEAU WILL SWITCH FROM RAIN TO SNOW. A LULL IN
SNOWFALL IS EXPECTED LATE TONIGHT. BUT A SECOND STORM SYSTEM WILL
BRING ENHANCED SNOWFALL ON SUNDAY. THE STRONGEST WINDS WILL BE
FELT OVER RABBIT EARS...GORE AND VAIL PASSES WHERE WHITEOUT
CONDITIONS AND HEAVILY DRIFTED SNOW ARE EXPECTED.

* SNOW ACCUMULATION...8 TO 16 INCHES OF NEW SNOW IS EXPECTED BY
  MIDNIGHT SUNDAY NIGHT WITH HIGHER AMOUNTS ON EXPOSED WEST FACING
  RIDGES.

* WINDS...SOUTHWEST 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 35 MPH THIS
  MORNING...SHIFTING TO THE WEST AND INCREASING TO 20 TO 30 MPH
  WITH FREQUENT GUSTS TO 50 MPH OR MORE THIS AFTERNOON INTO
  SUNDAY. GUSTS TO 60 MPH OR MORE ARE EXPECTED OVER VAIL AND
  TENNESSEE PASSES THIS AFTERNOON INTO SUNDAY.

* VISIBILITY...FREQUENTLY LOWERING TO LESS THAN 1/2 MILE IN
  BLOWING SNOW THIS AFTERNOON INTO SUNDAY.

* IMPACTS...TRAVEL IS EXPECTED TO BECOME DIFFICULT THIS AFTERNOON
  AND EVENING. ICY AND SNOWPACKED ROADWAYS WILL ALSO HAVE
  WIDESPREAD BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW. VISIBILITY WILL BE VERY
  LOW AT TIMES.
