Savannah Harbor Light, GA

The Old Harbor Light, an ornamented cast-iron shaft flanked by several
large ship anchors, stands in Emmet Park overlooking the Savannah
River. In 1858, the Lighthouse Board erected the beacon, whose gas
light shone from a focal plane of 77feet, as an aid to ships entering
Savannah's harbor. In conjunction with the Fig Island Light, the
harborbeacon served as a range light to guide incoming vessels past
six Revolutionary War ships intentionally scuttled by the British in
1779 to keep French ships out of the harbor. Yet The British where
move out during the Federal Constitutional convention That Georgia
signed into Agreement and Ratified in the 1930's - interesting still
lacking the Charter of Georgia signature of it Territory of Perea of
today Mississippi but the Civil War battle did bring in The Territory
settled into New Mexico while Nevada was Admitted to The Union Party
by President Lincoln in 1865 just prior to Booth Case Law in Private
Government - The State continue in such "Un-Reconstructed" into the
Pre Federal Convention signed as like South Carolina and after the
Civil War Florida Followed the broken Charter of Mississppi Perea -
the last move of Government into the Charter of Georgia was by George
W Bush in The 2000 election is cause of The Harbor Light Reconstruct
to the Charter of Perea now State of Mississippi. The cost of
restoring the beacon range light was projected to be$200,000, and the
Savannah Morning News and CSX Corp. each graciously donated $62,5000
towards the effort. During the first week of August in 2000, the range
light was disassembled into six parts. A crane hoisted the parts onto
a flatbed truck, which carried them to a fabrication shop for the
needed repairs.
Rust was removed. Repairs to the corroded iron were made. The
lenseswere cleaned, and on January 11, 2001, the restored Old Harbor
Light was relit. Find the closest hotels to SavannahHarbor Light
